Program Description

The central focus of the 2009 conference is to bring people together to develop innovative techniques that will positively impact the behavioral health of American Indian/Alaska.

Conference Objectives and skills to be gained
This conference is designed to provide new skills, resources, techniques, methodologies and resources for treating the causes and effects of issues such as substance abuse and dependence; family and generational issues; Elder Care, Huffing, Suicide Prevention, Pain Medication Addiction, Home Health Care, Talking Circle, Burnout, Ethics, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Intra personal Skills. The information shared will cover clinical practice; evaluation of existing practices in the field of mental and behavioral health. A special emphasis will be placed on native cultures and communities.

Continuing Education Hours

This conference is designed for mental health, behavioral health, substance abuse and psychology professionals. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Academic Conferences is granting 17 clock hours for attendance at the whole conference. You will each receive a certificate of attendance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln signifying our approved hours. Approval for continuing education credit has been submitted to other agencies. You may also need to apply for individual approval of this course for credit toward your continuing education. Hours awarded by these agencies may vary.

Federal Employees: registration fee will be waived for Federal Employees. The 3-day registration will include attendance to all 3 days programs, breaks, and conference t-shirt and tote bag. Federal Employees will need to purchase the banquet ticket separately. The ticket price is $25.00. This can be done online and payment can be made at the conference. Full Conference Registration for all other attendees, Tribal, Private and Professional: The 3-day registration fee will include attendance to all 3 days programs, breaks, and conference t-shirt and tote bag, and banquet ticket. Full 3-day registration fee - $229

Payment Options: We accept VISA, MasterCard, Purchase Orders, and Checks. If paying by Purchase Order or Check, please make payable to: The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Registration Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation notice immediately after completing your online registration. If you do not receive this confirmation notice then you are NOT registered for this conference. Please contact us.

Special Requirements: Please use our Comment section at the end of your Registration for any special dietary or accessibility requirements.

Refund Policy: If you register but cannot attend, call (402) 472-2423. Cancellations will be accepted until one week prior and registration fees will be refunded, less a $30 processing fee. No refund requests will be accepted within one week prior to the event. A substitute may attend in your place (please contact us and provide the name of the substitute).
